Who we are

Convalentis is founded on a simple belief: when the people shaping healthcare work with greater mutual understanding and alignment, medicines can reach the people who need them more effectively.

We help organizations design the access journey with structure, insight and actionable recommendations, enabling patients to benefit from medical innovation in a more timely and dependable way.

Our Approach

We believe that meaningful solutions always start with understanding. At Convalentis, we take the time to listen, to clients, to patients, and to the people working across healthcare, before acting.

Our approach is strategic, practical, and connected. Strategic in aligning organizational needs with payer realities. Practical in delivering solutions that hold up in execution. Connected in bridging industry, payers, patients, and healthcare organizations around a common purpose.

Access Architecture™ — Plan · Build · Capture · Grow is our way of helping organizations understand, align and design their access journey. It is grounded in mutual understanding, clarity and purposeful collaboration. Because every organization and every market is different, Access Architecture™ is always adapted to the specific context, not applied as a fixed sequence.

The result: strategies that are not only sound in theory, but executable in practice: Tailored, pragmatic, connected, and built to last.

Chief Architect

black and white photograph of Dr. Martin Walter

Dr. Martin Walter founded Convalentis after more than two decades in global pricing, market access and policy, connecting experience from consulting with strategic and operational pharma leadership roles.

At Boehringer Ingelheim, he rose to VP & Global Market Access Head Human Pharma, leading a function of ~800 people and delivering value strategies, margins, digitalization and governance across key markets including the US, Europe and Japan. As Head of Market Access for Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), he held operational accountability across 33 countries, launching primary and specialty care products and building partnerships that significantly improved healthcare policies, patient reach and returns.

Before industry, Martin was Director at Simon-Kucher, advising biopharma companies on pricing, launch sequencing and payer strategy. Later, as a client, he saw where consultancy solutions can fall short in real-world execution. These insights shape the practical ethos behind Convalentis.

He has lived and worked in four countries, holds a PhD in Physics (Bonn) and executive education from Oxford. His work centers on one aim: translating pharma and biotech innovation into payer-recognized value and patient access.

Our Values

A common purpose

Everyone in healthcare ultimately shares the same goal: improving patients’ lives. This anchors how we act, work, adapt, and deliver.

  • Integrity
Evidence-led, transparent, and accountable; advice that stands in the boardroom and in front of payers and patients.
  • Collaboration
We work shoulder-to-shoulder with client teams, payers, policymakers and healthcare organizations to align interests around that common purpose, with mutual understanding, clear roles, and transparent boundaries
  • Agility
We adapt with speed and precision to external policy shifts and market dynamics. Our way of working reflects that: location-independent, digitally connected, and focused on outcomes rather than process.
  • Impact
Our strategies hold up in execution, stronger organizations, and results that matter for companies and patients.
